After doing an illustration for an article in the June ‘09 issue of Computer Arts, we were asked to do THE COVER for the September issue. Quite a step up! The issue deals with printing techniques, so there are many special effects on the cover. The photograph doesn’t do justice to the real thing, but if you look closely you might notice: silver color, pink and yellow neon pantone colors, pink metallic foil, emboss on the hand, the hole where the hand reaches out is cut-out, the grid is printed with UV varnish … uf … I hope we didn’t bancrupt them! We also did the first spread of the magazine, where all the elements are in order, and then the hand scatters them across the cover. Majestic! Thanks to all the people @ CA, especially to Luke O’Neill and Jo Gulliver. It was great working with them. What’s next?
